Over the last few years, we've noticed that our students are growing more and more attached to their cell phones.  While it's convenient for scheduling meetings and reminder calls, it's a little distracting when a student pulls out her brand new pink RAZR in the midst of an essay seminar.

Colleges seem to be catching on to the trend.  In addition to asking for students' cell phone numbers, some colleges have even begun texting them their admissions decisions, according to this article.

I can just see myself leading a seminar and having it interrupted by a cell phone chime, followed by a student exclaiming, "I got in!!!"  That's what I call a welcome interruption.
